When Karisma Kapoor had to reshoot Juhi Chawla’s portions in Switzerland and Amsterdam- Exclusive! – Times of India

Juhi Chawla’s equation graph with filmmaker Suneel Darshan has had its share of ups and downs. On May 18, we brought you one such story that stemmed from this graph (link below). We bring you another herewith.

In what was a smooth sailing collaboration, things went sour between Suneel Darshan and Juhi when she had to opt out of Darshan’s movie ‘Ajay’ starring Sunny Deol in the male lead because of her hectic schedule. Karisma Kapoor replaced her, but by then, Juhi had shot 70 per cent of her role and a large portion of it was shot in Switzerland and Amsterdam.

This implied that Karisma had to fly out to Switzerland and Amsterdam with many other actors of ‘Ajay’ so that everything gets replaced correctly. And, Suneel Darshan did not compromise; he flew out with Karisma and others to capture everything again that Juhi had shot there.

Confirming the same, Suneel Darshan told ETimes, “An enthusiastic Karisma then envigoured the enthusiasm. It wasn’t easy but we pulled it off beautifully. I put up a fresh team and took the challenging situation by its horns to make one of the most grand and gorgeous looking movies of the mid-90s.”

Post that, as reported in our story dated May 18 (read below) all was not well between the two until Juhi’s secretary suggested to Suneel Darshan to cast her as Amitabh Bachchan‘s daughter in ‘Ek Rishta-The Bond Of Love’.

Mr Darshan and Ms Chawla patched up and the set for the first day’s shoot was already ready, when suddenly Darshan got the news that Juhi was pregnant with her first child. Amitabh Bachchan agreed to do two shifts- one that he was doing for Karan Johar’s ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ (‘K3G’) and the second for Suneel Darshan. Big B would finish his ‘K3G’ work by 7 pm every day thereafter and shoot till 2 am on ‘Ek Rishta- The Bond Of Love’. All so that Juhi’s baby bump would not show in the film prominently.
