Ayan Mukerji says ‘it is not like elaichi in biriyani’ as he comes out in defense of ‘love storiyaan’ in Brahmastra song ‘Kesariya’ – Times of India

Ayan Mukerji recently opened up about the lyrics of the first song, ‘Kesariya’ from ‘Brahmastra’, especially the use of ‘love storiyaan’ in the song.

In an interview with a news portal, when the filmmaker was asked about the same, he said that they have put it with a lot of love and they found it very interesting. According to Ayan, it’s not like elaichi in biryani, it’s like salt amid sugar. It has its own taste.

Elaborating further, the director added that because the film is a modern film and the lyrics of the song are very traditional and simple, this would have been a fun twist. Ayan also went on to say that he still feels that in some time, people will actually start enjoying it even more.

The video of his interview has been doing the rounds on a social media platform. It soon garnered a lot of comments. While one comment read, ‘Ayan if you’re reading, you’re wrong. Kindly get the other songs corrected’, another one read, ‘Maybe Ayan will start doing explanatory videos before releasing his songs now.’

‘Brahmastra’ brings together Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt on the silver screen for the first time. The movie also features Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and Mouni Roy in key roles. It is slated to hit the theatres on September 9, 2022.
