‘Raksha Bandhan’ box office day 2 early estimate: Akshay Kumar starrer drops by 30% – Times of India


Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Raksha Bandhan’ was released on Thursday in theatres. The film clashed with Aamir Khan‘s much-talked film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ at the box office. With ‘Raksha Bandhan’, Akshay reunited with Aanand L Rai after ‘Atrangi Re’. The film opened to mixed reviews from the audience and the critics as well.

According to the BoxOfficeIndia report, the movie witnessed a 30% drop in the collection. The film is set to collect Rs 5.50 – 6 crores on its second day. The two-day collection of the film will be around Rs 13.50-14 crore nett. On its opening day, Aanand L Rai directorial raked in Rs 8 crore.

Apart from Akshay, the film stars Bhumi Pednekar, Sadia Khateeb, Sahejmeen Kaur, Smrithi Srikanth and Deepika Khanna.

Meanwhile, talking about working with Aanand L Rai, Akshay told ANI, “I were to describe Aanand sir, it would be a warm hug. That’s what being around him feels like. He’s someone who I feel is very honest and passionate about his craft. Hence, he won’t make you do something which isn’t being honest to the character of film. What makes us click is that I feel we are very similar as people, simple living, love for food, can’t sit idle, even if it’s just Ludo, we play in our free time.”
