It was a bitter-sweet day for our Bees today with some happy news on one side of town and some sad news coming in from the other side. Celebrations of ‘Chhello Show’ getting selected for the Oscars were cut short with the news of Raju Srivastava’s passing. Bolly Bee’s got you all the top headlines of the day, so stick around.

Wednesday was off to a gloomy start with news of comedian Raju Srivastava’s demise. The funnyman passed away at the age of 58, almost 41 days after being admitted to AIIMS, Delhi. His nephew Kunal Srivastava confirmed the sad news to our bees saying, “Yes, it is true. He passed away half an hour back. We all are at AIIMS. His entire family is here. We haven’t decided on the last rites yet.” Following the news of his passing, several fans, friends and film stars took to their social media handles to pay tribute and honour Raju’s memory.

In some more bad news coming our we today, an MP Minister has sought a ban on Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra’s ‘Thank God’. Buzz is that the BJP leader claimed that the comedy has showcased an inappropriate depiction of Hindu gods. More on that when the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issues a statement…

… but now’s time for celebration as Pan Nalin’s critically acclaimed film ‘Chhello Show’ is India’s official entry to the Oscars! The Gujarati film edged out competition from Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘The Kashmir Files’ and SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ to get its ticket to the Osars and run for the Best Foreign film title. In a chat with our bees, Pan opened up about his surprise and said that the jury was also pleasantly surprised with his film. When asked about the message of his film, he said “It celebrates the spirit of India that thinks big. The message is: Follow your dream and you will succeed.”

He is the deity of breath, the spiritual father of Hanuman, Bheem and Madhav and He is the incredibly powerful lord of wind,” the new mom explained in her Insta post.
