Amidst reports of playing Dev, Ranveer Singh reviews Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Brahmastra’; talks about change in Indian cinema – Times of India

Ayan Mukerji’s fantasy drama, ‘Brahmastra’ starring Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor has been making a record-breaking collection at the box office. The latest one to join the bandwagon of celebrities showering praise on the film is Ranveer Singh.

At an event held recently, Ranveer talk highly about the movie and said, “I thoroughly enjoyed the Brahmastra experience, the Astraverse. It is a fantastic big-screen offering and something, unlike anything we’ve seen in Hindi cinema. I truly appreciate the efforts of my friends and putting that out there. There is now a very clear distinction between what is meant for the big screen.”

Reports are rife that Ranveer Singh will be essaying the role of Dev in the film while Deepika Padukone will be playing the role of Amrita. However, there has been no official confirmation by the makers of the film on the same.

Ranveer also talked about theatrical releases of the film. According to him, the films which are releasing in theatres should have a big screen appeal and a big scale. It should be a visual spectacle which is something one can’t experience at home, the actor told PTI.

‘Brahmastra’ also featured Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Mouni Roy in key roles. It also had Shah Rukh Khan in a special cameo.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranveer will next be seen in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Cirkus’ co-starring Jacqueline Fernandez, Pooja Hegde, Varun Sharma amongst others.

Apart from this, he also has Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ which also stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi. It is slated to hit the theatres in February 2023.
