Director Suneel Darshan opens up on issues with Sunny Deol, says the actor ‘cheated’ him – Times of India

In Bollywood nothing lasts forever. Friendships, both personal and professional often go sour leading to actors, directors and others going their separate way. It is just a part and parcel of the game and more often than not, celebs prefer to take it with a pinch of salt and move on. However, sometimes the cracks in the relationship carry on for years.

Director Suneel Darshan, who has been away from the limelight since long once shared a fantastic working relationship with Sunny Deol, having worked with him in Inteqam (1988), Lootere (1993) and Ajay (1996). However, it was on the sets of Ajay that things started deteriorating between the two.

In an interview to Bollywood Hungama recently, the director said that it was on the sets of “Ajay” that Sunny and him started having creative differences and the former walked out of the set in a huff, never to return. Not only this, according to Suneel, Sunny refused to return the signing amount of the movie, nor shoot the climax and the director was forced to release the movie without a proper ending.

Adding that he has been locked in a legal battle with the “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha” actor for 25 years, Suneel said that Sunny has a big ‘ego’ and that he ‘cheated’ him.

On the workfront, Suneel Darshan is reportedly gearing up for a comeback.
