Jeetendra shares that once he was rebuked by a director, reveals how what his father told him after that changed his life – Times of India


To say that parents are often hard on their children is like stating the obvious. When it comes to parenting, finding the right dose of being soft and harsh in equal measure can go a long way in shaping up the future of kids. Not only this, the right lesson imparted to your child, young or adult, can alter the course of their life for the better as veteran actor Jeetendra recently disclosed.

The 80-year old, who ruled the silver screen from the 60s to the 90s, recently appeared on the sets of a singing reality show and shared some anecdotes from his life. Recounting the same, the
Himmatwala actor shared that once he was working as a junior artiste in V Shantaram’s movie,
Sehra. At the outdoor schedule of the same, the actor arrived half an hour late for the shoot, leading to the director rebuking him and asking him to go back to Mumbai.

Disappointed and upset, Jeetendra then called up his father Amarnath Kapoor and narrated him the incident. Instead of sympathising with him or coddling him, his father harshly told him to come and sit on his lap, insinuating that he needs to fight his own battles and discipline himself.

The actor further revealed that post that, he became a changed man and inculcated discipline in his life, even impressing director V Shantaram. The actor finally had a word of advice for all youngsters, that is to listen to one’s parents even if they are scolding you, it is for your own good.

Apart from appearing in movies, Jeetendra is also the chairman of the Balaji Telefilms and Balaji Motion Pictures.
