Raveena Tandon gets a Tiger cub named after her at Kanpur zoo; sends heaters to the baby Tiger to beat winters – Times of India

Raveena Tandon’s love for nature and wildlife is popularly known. The actress is often seen posting pictures from wildlife sanctuaries and tiger reserves in the country. She is also Wildlife Goodwill Ambassador of Maharashtra.

Honouring her for her contribution for preservation of wildlife, Kanpur zoo named a tiger cub after her. Raveena took to her Twitter handle to express her gratitude for the same.

She wrote, ‘Great initiative @WildLense_India ! Good Going Kanpur zoo with all the rescue and rehabilitation work you doing! #kanpurzoo”’

The authorities of the zoo thanked Raveena for sending heaters for hospitals and supplements for the cub. “Thank you to the lady with “Green Heart” @TandonRaveena Ma’am. You have extended your support to the voiceless souls of #Kanpur_Zoo in this spine chilling winters,” they wrote on Twitter.

Earlier, in an interview with a news portal, Raveena had shared that her love for wildlife began at an early age. The actress went on her first-ever safari with her father to Bandipur National Park in Karnataka and Mudumalai Tiger Reserve in Tamil Nadu. From then onward, her love story with the jungle started. The actress added that she has been to the forests worldwide but there is no romance in any of these jungles as in the Indian jungles. Raveena has always worked for animals and our environment. According to her, maximum abuse in the world happens to women and children and then to animals. She stated that she has been been working for women and children as well as animals all along.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Raveena will next be seen in Arbaaz Khan’s ‘Patna Shukla’.
