Veteran Kannada actor Lakshman no more – Times of India



A senior actor Lakshman, who has acted in over 300 Kannada films, has passed away due to heart attack on Monday. He was 74.

Lakshman who complained of chest pan was taken to a hospital at Nagarabhavi. After receiving treatment, he was sent back to home, in the week hours of today, he breathed his last. His mortal remains are currently kept for public viewing and last rites are likely to be performed today.

Many sandalwood actors have shared their grief on his demise. Actress-turned-politician Sumalatha Ambareesh has mourned the death of Lakhman on her social media pages. She posted, “The news of the death of renowned senior actor Lakshmana is shocking. Dr. He has acted in many movies including Ambarish’s ‘Antha’. The actor who was active in theater, television and cinema industry. I pray to God to give strength to hi family to bear his loss.”
Some of his notable films are Dada, Halunda Thavaru, Yajamana, Suryvamasha, Sangliyana, Malla and he was also seen recently released movie Ravi Bopoanna. Lakshman was seen in antagonist role of most of his films.

Lakshman who was supposed to join the army was stopped by his mother and later he pursued acting as his career.
