With such high-octane stunts and gravity defying action sequences, the movie, needless to say is being compared to Hollywood biggies like James Bond, Mission Impossible, Fast and Furious and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, in an interaction with Gulf News, Siddharth revealed that he isn’t a huge fan of the genre, so he is not even sure if there has been any overlap, as he has only seen a couple of movies in that genre.
Elaborating on the same, the filmmaker said that comparisons with the West are inevitable when you make a movie that does not fit into the run-of-the-mill Bollywood bracket. However, Siddharth was quick to add that unlike the West, we also have budget limitations, that makes churning out a quality product like Pathaan challenging. The maker also added that it is not him, but his 16-year-old son, who is huge fan of the genre and often skims through his scripts to tell him what is right and what should be excluded.
Pathaan has raked in almost Rs 350 crore domestically, and more than Rs 635 crore worldwide.
