Trade Talk: Will Shahid Kapoor’s Farzi trump Rocky Balboa’s spirit? – Times of India

It’s a bleak week at the box office, that pause before the imminent explosion next Friday when Kartik Aaryan’s Shehzada explodes across screens across the cinematic universe.
This week the OTT looks to conquer the box office without a fight. Will Rocky Balboa throw in the towel in the ring? Amazon Prime Video’s Farzi seemingly overshadows Anupam Kher’s Shiva Shastri Balboa.

Anupam, who is proud to play a fan of Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky Balboa, has been promoting the film earnestly. However the opening day’s collections aren’t landing too many punches. Hopefully, like the other recent Kher starrer Uunchai, Shiv Shastri Balboa too will show some improvement in the collections in the coming days.

A heartwarming film about seizing the day before it’s too late, Balboa deserves an audience, and never mind its ‘Rocky’ beginning at the bo.

Farzi with its inimitable directorial combination of Raj and DK, teamed with Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi, is the sort of crime-pays-like-hell-if-you-do-it-right premise that had to win in the right hands. This looks like another big winner for the Amazon-Raj/DK combo after The Family Man.

Shahid who has not had a hit since Kabir Singh in 2019, can’t keep still as he makes his digital debut.

There are two excellent Hollywood films in the offing, too. Steven Spielberg’s The Fabelmans and Marc Forster’s A Man Called Otto.

Foreign-language films are very niche in our country unless it is a superhero film from the Marvel universe, preferably dubbed in Hindi.
