JR NTR talks about having a Tiger on his Oscar outfit to represent India and ‘RRR’ – WATCH – Times of India

It’s a historic moment for India as ‘Naatu Naatu’ from ‘RRR‘ wins an Oscar for the ‘Best Original Song’ at the 95th Academy Awards. Composer MM Keervani received the award and won hearts with this winning speech. The entire team has made India proud and is ecstatic as India brings home, not just one, but two Oscars. ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ for in the ‘Best Documentary Short Subject’ category.
Jr NTR wore a black bandhgala with a Tiger embedded on it in golden. He spoke about his choice of outfit at the red carpet of the Oscars. NTR had a Tiger on his attire representing ‘RRR’ and his iconic Tiger fight scene in the film. But he also added that it represents India. “When designer Gaurav Gupta and me discussed what I should wear, we realised, it’s not going to be us walking the red carpet, it’s India, so we wore an Indian attire and Tiger being the national animal of India”

Ram Charan was also seen in a black attire at the red carpet, while SS Rajamouli opted for a kurta with dhoti. Reacting to this Oscar win, Jr NTR expressed, “ I cannot find the words to express my elation right now. This is not just a win for RRR but for India as a country. I believe this is just the beginning. Showing us how far Indian cinema can go. Congratulations to Keeravaani garu and Chandrabose garu. Of course none of this would have been possible without a master storyteller called Rajamouli and the audiences who showered us with all the love. I would also like to congratulate the team of ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ on their win today bringing another Oscar to India.”
