Kapil Sharma recalls earning his first salary of Rs 500 at the age of 14 – Times of India

Kapil Sharma has often hit headlines as one of the highest tax payers in the country, thanks to his mammoth income. However, he had humble beginnings before making it big.
In a recent interview, the actor cum comedian revealed how he did odd jobs to earn pocket money. One of his initial jobs was to work at a STD/PCO booth wherein he was paid Rs 500. He went on recall that he took up a job at a mill at the age of 14 and was paid Rs 900 every month. Kapil Sharma told curly tales, “I have done a lot of odd little jobs. Like after I gave my 10th standard exams, I used to work at a garment mill. It used to be so hot that even the migrant labourers used to run back to their villages.” He added that there was no pressure from home to work and that he would spend his earnings to buy a music system, or a gift for his mother. Revealing the reason behind his decision to start earning at a youn age, Kapil said that he felt shy to ask for money at home.

Kapil Sharma is currently entertaining on the big screen with his latest offering ‘Zwigato’. He plays the role of a delivery boy in this Nandita Das directorial.
