The British environmentalist, 44, and the actress, 47, were seen leaving Nobu in Malibu, California. As per reports, the outing lasted three hours. Jolie was spotted wearing an all black ensemble, which included a black dress with cutouts paired with black high heels and black sunglasses.
David de Rothschild, the billionaire ecologist, meanwhile kept it chic casual while wearing blue jeans, paired with a grey sweatshirt, blue shirt and draped a cool blue jacket to complete the casual look. He looked nerdy while wearing spectacles and sporting hair that almost fell to the back of his neck.
Just a few months ago, the Tomb Raider actress had announced that she was no longer continuing in her role as Special Envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, a post which she held for many years. The actress said, “grateful for the privilege and opportunity I have had to work with so many outstanding and dedicated UNHCR field officers and other colleagues doing lifesaving work globally, and to serve as Special Envoy.”
The actress further clarified that she will continue to directly engage with refugees and local organisations rather than doing it through the UN. A source added that Jolie will lend more effective help as an outsider. Among her various humanitarian efforts, Jolie had worked with UNHCR since 2001, and was appointed Special Envoy in 2012.
Jolie separated from her husband Brad Pitt in 2016. It was in 2021 that she was spotted with The Weeknd, which also sparked rumours, but sources later claimed that the two were not romantically linked. Following the lunch with David de Rothschild, fans are now curious to see if Jolie will end up with billionaire.
