Adaptation is seemingly the in word for producers and creators at BBC Studios. Else what could be the reason behind them adapting nearly half a dozen of their successful shows in India, right from Criminal Justice (starring Pankaj Tripathi), Luther ( Rudra: The Edge of Darkness starring Ajay Devgn ) and The Night Manager ( starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Anil Kapoor) .

The report also suggests that Kay Kay Menon will essay the titular role and Ranvir Shorey will play Dr John Watson. Srijit Mukherji, who last directed Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga with Pankaj Tripathi and Shabaash Mithu with Taapsee Pannu will be the director of the show. The show goes on floors in April in Kolkata and has been contextualized in an Indian setting.

Kay Kay Menon was last seen in Farzi with Shahid Kapoor, whereas Ranvir Shorey’s last outing was the much loved Tabbar.
