Andaaz‘ was Priyanka Chopra‘s debut film (with Akshay Kumar and Lara Dutta) and ETimes has it that she found it extremely hard to crack her dancing in Bollywood fashion in the song ‘Allah Kare Dil Na Lage’. A source has told ETimes that Priyanka could not dance the way the makers (producer Suneel Darshan, director Raj Kanwar) wanted, despite best efforts from her and them both.
The shoot was stopped and the unit returned to Mumbai. Back in Mumbai, Suneel Darshan enrolled Priyanka for a 45-day training in dancing with ace choreographer Veeru Krishnan.

When they went back to Cape Town, Priyanka got into the required dancing shoes very well. The shoot proceeded smoothly thereafter and Suneel Darshan and Raj Kanwar were also happy.

When contacted, Suneel Darshan said, “Yes, this happened. And exactly around that time, Akshay Kumar’s wife Twinkle was expecting their first child and her delivery date was round the corner. Akshay suggested that we take a break, return to Mumbai and come back a month or so later. And yes, I enrolled Priyanka with Veenu Prakash. Post that, however, it was all smooth.”
‘Andaaz’ was released in 2003 and it starred Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta in lead roles, with Pankaj Dheer, Johnny Lever, Maya Alagh and Aman Verma playing significant parts.
