Messi was the star of the show as Inter Miami thrashed Atlanta United 4-0 in the Leagues Cup on Tuesday, securing a ticket to the knockout stage.
Just days after scoring a thrilling winner on his debut as a substitute, Messi demonstrated his legendary skills, starting with a goal in the eighth minute. Receiving an impeccable pass from ex-Barcelona teammate Sergio Busquets, Messi initially hit the woodwork, only to seize the rebound and send it into the back of the net to uproarious applause from the home supporters.
In the twenty-second minute, Messi struck again, converting a diving cross from his teammate Robert Taylor, who himself scored two goals in the sweltering Miami heat. Upon scoring his second goal, Messi dedicated the moment to team co-owner, David Beckham, a gesture that brought a broad grin to the face of the former Manchester United star. Beckham played a significant role in bringing Messi to Miami despite substantial offers from Saudi Arabia.
