In an interview with Variety, Wright addressed the question of whether Loki’s adventures will extend beyond the upcoming season 2.While making it clear that a third season of ‘Loki’ hasn’t yet been officially confirmed, Wright stated, “I also think that where this show goes, there certainly can be many, many, many more stories told with Loki in the Loki world, and in other worlds connected to Loki, the character.”
This, in turn, opens the door to possibilities for the beloved character and the possibility of fulfilling a promise with his brother – Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth. When asked about the possibility of Loki and Thor reuniting on the big screen in a possible future MCU film, Wright admitted that it is a possibility.
He explained, “I think the sun shining on Loki and Thor once again has always been the priority of the story we’re telling. But for that meeting to really be fulfilling, we have to get Loki to a certain place emotionally. I think that’s been the goal of these two seasons.”
Recent reports indicated that the upcoming film Avengers: Secret Wars will serve as a fitting end to the journies of many heroes that began over the past decade on film and OTT. The film will reportedly serve as a ‘soft reset’ to usher in a new phase of the MCU with a bunch of new characters carrying the mantel.
Tom Hiddleston’s ‘Loki’ series picks up after the events of ‘Avengers: Endgame’ where a varient of his character steals the tesseract and disappears, thus creating a new timeline. The first part of the series also played a crucial role in kicking off Marvel’s Multiverse saga that will reportedly come to an end with Avengers: Secret Wars on May 7, 2027.
