Karan Johar recalls being physically sick before the release of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, thought he will get a cardiac arrest | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Karan Johar returned to direction after a gap of seven years with the blockbuster Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, that released earlier this year. Karan, who was extremely nervous about making the Ranveer Singh-Alia Bhatt starrer, recently opened up on what was going through his mind just prior to the release of the movie.

Speaking to Pinkvilla, Karan said that he was very stressed, and thought he was going to have a cardiac arrest.

He added that by stressed, he meant physically, like his body was shivering and shaking.
He further added that he felt he really seeked validation with this film, since it was a 7 year gap and a 3 year tough time, with all the trolling and anxiety. He further added there was a lot of negativity that surrounded him personally, as well as the industry. He admitted that it wasn’t easy for him or his mum, however he felt that at that point, more than success, he was looking for validation.

He further went on to say that post the movie’s success, he has received unlimited love. Everyone, right from filmmakers to actors were calling him, and that the audience were reaching out to him from everywhere. He further added that he has never felt so respected as a filmmaker. He admitted that he always had this, not angst, but the feeling that ‘yaar, I don’t think they take me as seriously as they should’, but all that changed with Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
Karan further added that even revered filmmakers were calling him and saying, ‘This is great. Make more like this. This had the best messaging, yet entertaining’.

Apart from lead stars Alia and Ranveer, the movie co-starred Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi and others. The movie was immensely enjoyed by young and old alike and was lapped up by the audience.
