In an interview with Film Companion, Aditya revealed that Anurag wants to keep actors a little bit off kilter so that they come on set and do something that nobody has pre-ordained and that can only happen if the actor hasn’t had too much time to pain over something and plot what they’re going to do.He also shared that it took a couple of days for him to get used to it.
Elaborating further, Aditya added that in Ludo’s case, there was no bound script. It was all in Anurag’s head but he got the story synopsis. So, he knew what everyone else’s track was and his track but it was a synopsis not a dialogue draft. He added that there were indicative dialogues. According to him, as an actor, you are trying to glean as much as you can from that limited database.
The actor also mentioned that Anurag enjoys spending quality time with actors and provides detailed synopsis that are comprehensive enough for the actor’s understanding. However, the actual dialogues are not introduced until the
Aditya went on to clarify that the director does this not to torture you. He cited an example of his role of ventriloquist that he played in Ludo. According to him, there was some really tricky stuff. He had to do a few sequences where it was him and the puppet, so those scenes he gave him the night before which definitely helped him.
