Every relationship comes with some baggage, and the case of Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare is no different. Ira has always been very vocal about her mental health and her struggles with depression. In a recent interview, she revealed how she even had second thoughts about her relationship with Nupur owing to her condition.
While speaking to IndiaToday.in Ira shared that initially, she wasn’t sure whether she should get into a relationship.She didn’t want to date as she herself wasn’t sure what was going on inside her head, and will the other person be able to deal with that or not. However, later she realized that Nupur could handle this topic as an adult and thus, she shared with him what all her thoughts troubled her. Rest is history now.
In the same conversation, Ira opened up about how Nupur Shikhare helped her in her dark days. Praising her soon-to-be husband, Ira mentioned that Nupur held space for her. She said he had the emotional bandwidth with her; he understood things she tried to say even on occasions when she failed to articulate them properly. She didn’t know how, but Nupur figured out a way to take his time and be patient with her.She added that there were times when she acted like an unwell three or six-year-old, who couldn’t even take a shower. In those times Nupur took care of her. At the same time, there were days when Ira tried to give him as much as she could to enable him to take care of her.
They built their relationship on this beautiful understanding, and now finally they are taking another big step in their lives, by getting married on January 3, 2024 in Mumbai.
