Chetan Anand’s son Ketan Anand UPSET at IFFI organisers as they plan to screen the restored version of Haqeeqat – Exclusive | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

The 54th IFFI will be held at Goa later this month. The Indian Panorama announced a selection of 25 feature films and 20 non-feature films to be showcased at the festival to be held from November 20 to November 28. Three international restoration and 7 Indian restored films will also be screened, including Vijay Anand’s Guide and Chetan Anand‘s Haqeeqat, Mrinal Sen’s Marathi film Shyamchi Aai and Biswajeet starrer Bees Saal Baad.
Chetan Anand’s son Ketan Anand however was taken aback when he read the reports about the restored version of Haqeeqat to be premiered at IFFI 2023. When ETimes contacted Ketan, he seemed upset that the festival organisers did not feel the need to inform the owners of the film.
“I was surprised to read the news that Haqeeqat has been restored without my knowledge and was being screened at IFFI,” he said.
When asked whether he will attend the screening if invited by the Information and Broadcasting minister Anurag Thakur, he said, “Of course, it’s an honour. I would love to have been invited for the event.”
IFFI also has a special section of Accessible India-Accessible Films for the visually impaired, where films like Shershaah and Sirf Ek Banda Kaafi Hai will have embedded audio description. And for the hearing impaired, Kabir Khan’s 83 and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag will have sign language.
