YG Entertainment breaks silence on BLACKPINK’s contract as Lisa’s manager quits the agency – Times of India

There has been massive curiosity over BLACKPINK‘s contract renewal negotiations with YG Entertainment. In the latest update, the agency has issued a statement, maintaining ambiguity over the details.
According to Sports Chosun, YG Entertainment issued a statement on contract renewal with BLACKPINK and shared, “We are negotiating with the artists regarding their exclusive contracts.The final outcome will be revealed through the document regarding major management issues related to investments.”
Interestingly, this update comes soon after fans of BLACKPINK noticed that Lisa’s manager had quit YG Entertainment. According to reports, Lisa’s manager Alice Kang had updated her LinkedIn profile, wherein it was mentioned that she has quit the agency in October, after working with them for five years. This update further fuelled buzz about Lisa parting ways with the agency, following her manager. Recently, Lisa was in the news after fans noticed that her Weibo account was suspended due to violations of regulations. It is being speculated that Lisa’s Crazy Horse performance in September in Paris may have resulted in this.
Apparently, the manager of BLACKPINK’s Jennie, Alison Chang, also revealed via LinkedIn that she has quit YG Entertainment since October 2023. Rose, Lisa, Jisoo and Jennie debuted as BLACKPINK in 2016 and their seven-year contract with YG Entertainment expired in August. The agency was to announce the renewal of contract in September, however there has been no solid update about the same.
