Emraan Hashmi teams up with Karan Johar for an OTT show – Times of India

Emraan Hashmi is back in the big league thanks to his performance in the latest release Tiger 3 where he took on the iconic duo of Tiger and Zoya, played by Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif.After Tiger, he will now be seen teaming up with Karan Johar’s production house for an OTT show which is based on the movie industry,which is called Showtime.
Talking about it in an exclusive interview with ETimes, Emrran revealed that he completed the show a few months ago and it should stream sometime next year.
This is not Emraan’s first stint with an OTT show, he first collaborated with Shah Rukh Khan’s production house for a show called Bard of Blood (2019) , which was based on a book by the same name but somehow the second season of the show never came out, despite leaving season 1 on a major cliffhanger.

Clarifying the situation, Emraan shared, “Everyone comes to me and asks me, why are you making the second season of the show? The thing is that the show was based on the book and we just couldn’t crack a suitable story for the second season. “
Back in 2022, Karan had announced, “In addition to yet another exciting season of my beloved show, Koffee With Karan, happy to announce an all-new Dharma Production series, Showtime, which will lift the curtain on India’s entertainment industry’s biggest trade secrets.” The synopsis of the show released by the makers stated, “Bollywood is the land of dreams – dreams that are dreamt with eyes wide open. Showtime, a drama series, brings forward all the off-screen fights for the power that runs the show. A deep, raw, unconcealed and uninhibited look into the battle lines that are drawn and crossed to keep the camera rolling and the audiences clapping. There is only one emperor that sits on the chair – but what’s a throne without a fight to get there? So, lights… camera… and action!”
