Sarkar happens to be a very important film in Amitabh Bachchan and Ram Gopal Varma’s career, the film brought the two giants together who then went on to do many films together. Most of them were box office duds, but it showed the kind of roles RGV could envisage for Amitabh Bachchan.

Coming to Sarkar, the bungalow in which Amitabh Bachchan resides is his fortress, it is heavily guarded by gunmen not only inside but also outside.It so happened that RGV along with his huge team of assistants were on a recce trip, had a huge motorcade of 5-6 cars going from one place to another. And on one such trip, they were passing a strip and suddenlyRamu asked the car to be stopped, pointed at the bungalow in front of him and announced that this is Sarkar’ bungalow. No one from his team knew about the owner of the bungalow or if it is available for rent etc, but Ramu had made up his mind and he only wanted that bungalow for Sarkar.
So his team went in to check and get details only to be told that it is a blind school. After speaking to Ramu who was adamant on the bungalow, arrangements were made to move the students for sometime and shoot on days when the school was shut.
Sarkar featured Abhishek Bachchan, Kay Kay Menon, Katrina Kaif and Supriya Pathak and was one of the biggest hits of the year.
