Casting director and actor Mukesh Chhabra recently opened up about how Aamir Khan felt guilty about the failure of ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ at the box office. In an interview with The Lallantop, Chhabra revealed that Aamir Khan was deeply affected by the commercial failure of ‘Laal Singh Chaddha‘, and even threw a party for the cast and crew. The ace actor reportedly insisted the team of ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ to get together to mourn the box-offcie bomb and also to acknowledge and celebrate the effort each and every person put into the film.
According to Chhabra, during the party, Aamir Khan also said sorry for the film misfiring. “Sorry the film didn’t work, but we should all meet,” Aamir Khan reportedly said.

Chhabra expressed his disbelief on how a humungous star like Aamir Khan took ownership, especially for the film’s failure, and still wanted to meet and appreciate every single person who worked hard for the film. “Aamir kept saying that it was his fault,” he reminisced.

‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ was an official remake of the Hollywood classic ‘Forrest Gump’, starring Tom Hanks. Aamir Khan stepped into the shoes of the titular character and Kareena Kapoor Khan played the leading lady. Released in 2022, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ minted about Rs 130 crore worldwide, and the whole budget of the film was reportedly Rs 180 crore. The film also had Naga Chaitanya, and Mona Singh in important roles. Though the film received underwhelming reported during its initial theatrical release, it garnered much appreciation during its digital premiere.
