Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal BEATS Jawan with Monday collection – read deets | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Ranbir Kapoorand Sandeey Reddy Vanga’s Animal has opened the floodgates at the box office, despite being 3 hours and 21 minutes long, getting an A certificate from the censors and some critics taking the film to the cleaners pointing out the toxicity of male characters. The film entered the Rs 200 crore on its third day itself with collecting Rs 63.8 crore on day 1, Rs 66.27 crore on day 2 and Rs 71.46 crore on day 3, taking the grand total of the film to Rs 201.53 across languages over the weekend.

Come Monday and everyone was expecting the film to break many more records and it did, as far as Hindi records are concerned the film has managed to beat the likes of Jawan and Housefull 4. On Monday, Animal minted Rs 39.9 crore across languages with Hindi leading the collection with Rs 36 crore and rest from Tamil and Telugu versions. The film broke the record of Jawan, which had made Rs 32.92 crore overall with Rs 30.5 crore in Hindi and Housefull 4 which made Rs 34.56 crore. However, Animal stands behind many films like Tiger Zinda Hai, Gadar 2, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion and Tiger 3 which made Rs 36.54 crore, Rs 38.7 crore, Rs 40.25 crore and Rs 58 crore respectively.
Ranbir recently spoke about how real life experiences shaped his portrayal in the film. He said , “I lost my father and I feel everyone who loses a parent, they feel they haven’t spent enough time with them. While I was growing up, my father was very busy. Shooting most of the time, doing double shifts, he was traveling. So, somewhere we saw him with a lot of love and respect but there was never really a friendly relationship between us. We could not just sit and chat and I have this one regret in my life that I wish I could be friends with my father. I wish I could share everything with him. That is one regret I will always live with.”
