Analysing Bollywood’s overall performance at the box office, Anurag told Pinkvilla that 2023 has been a great year.He is happy about the fact that Bollywood’s curse is lifted, because of which distributors are happy, studios are happy, everybody is happy, and when they are happy, he knows his projects will get greenlit.
“The biggest moment of the year was Pathaan breaking the curse. There was a curse on Bollywood and Shah Rukh Khan came and said, ‘Hataao isko (just remove it).’ That was the defining moment (of the year),” he added.

Recently, Anurag also came out in support of the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial Animal saying that people of India get easily offended with films. He added that nobody has the right to tell a filmmaker what kind of films they should and shouldn’t make.
While it is running successfully in theatres, a section of critics and viewers have slammed Animal, calling it misogynistic and graphically violent. The movie, which was given A certificate by the CBFC ahead of its release, also features
Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri, Suresh Oberoi and Prem Chopra.
