Videos going viral on social media see fans assembling outside theatres in large numbers to catch the early screenings of the film. The videos show the entrances of theatres decked up in lights, with large posters of Prabhas.
Owing to the high demand, several theatres in South India began midnight screenings of the action film, drawing in high footfalls.Videos show fans arriving beating dholes, creating an electrifying atmosphere reminiscent of a festival. Some were even seen setting off fireworks outside cinema halls before heading in to watch the movie on the big screen.
Social media platforms are buzzing with fan-generated content, showcasing their enthusiasm through hashtags like #SalaarMania and #BlockbusterSalaar.
Besides the fans, a few celebrities were also seen heading to theatres to catch an early screening. Actor Sreevishnu was spotted watching the film at a theatre and enjoying the experience with fans. In the video, Sreevishnu can be seen completely engrossed in the on-screen action. He was seen whistling and cheering for Prabhas as fans threw confetti and streamers during a climax scene.
The Prabhas starrer is now set to record the highest opening day collection in India. Reports state that the film is expected to earn Rs 95 crore on day one from revenue generated across India. If it does manage to cross the Rs 90 crore mark, it will beat the record created by Shah Rukh Khan‘s ‘Jawan’, which earned an estimated Rs 75 crore at the all-India box office.
‘Salaar’, directed by Prashanth Neel, is now expected to dominate the Christmas box office and end the year on a high.
