Veteran actor Raj Babbar, who is celebrated for his iconic roles in films such as Insaf Ka Tarazu, Nikaah, and Aaj Ki Aawaz, recently expressed pride in his unique journey when he transitioned from a successful acting career to entering politics in the late 80s.
Born into a family with his grandfather and father in the railways, Babbar spent his early life in rented houses. He proudly revealed that the first house he owned was in Mumbai, breaking a two-and-a-half-generation tradition of residing in quarters. “It felt good. Mujhe kabhi kuch kami nazar nahi aayi. I chose my own path,” Babbar said in an interview with Rajshri Unplugged.

He then opened up about his journey into politics. He said that he was interested in social service and that’s why he decided to enter politics and looked at it as a means to voice his thoughts on both reel and real-life platforms.

“I have no regrets. Sure, maybe I could have earned a lot more money which I didn’t. But this is God’s blessing,” Babbar remarked.
He further expressed his commitment to his craft and the evolving landscape of the entertainment industry. He added that he still wants to act stating, “I am not one of those who feels, ‘Ok that’s it, I have done enough.’ Till the time my body is in a position, I will work. I will keep doing better.”
