Alia Bhatt: Poacher awareness video on murder and ivory poaching shared by Alia Bhatt | – Times of India



Few days back, it was reported that Alia Bhatt has come on board as Executive Producer for Emmy Award Richie Mehta‘s new crime Series Poacher. The series will star Nimisha Sajayan, Roshan Mathew, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya in lead roles. Poacher is an investigative crime series based on true events and explores the issue of ivory poaching in India. Richie has created, written and directed the series.

Now Alia Bhatt has released the teaser of the show which is slated to release on February 23.Sharing it, Alia wrote , “ I spent less than a day in the jungle to shoot this awareness video, but it still gave me chills.Murder is Murder…and I can’t wait for you to see the full story through the eyes of #RichieMehta and our stellar cast @nimisha_sajayan @roshan.matthew @dibyenduofficial.”
In the video, she is sharing the story of a 10-year-old elephant named Ashok, who was killed by poachers for his tusk. It was the third killing of the month.
Last week, Alia had shared a statement as she came on board for Poacher, she said, “The storytelling genuinely moved me, especially knowing it’s based on true events that shed light on brutal crimes occurring in our forests. I am confident Poacher will serve as an eye-opener, delivering a powerful message to be more compassionate and considerate towards all living beings. It’s a call to embrace coexistence and I am genuinely thrilled to contribute to this narrative.”
