Post Tiger 3, Emraan Hashmi will now be seen in Karan Johar’s production venture Ae Watan Mere Watan, which has Sara Ali Khan in the lead. Emraan plays the role of freedom Fighter Ram Manohar Lohia in the film, it is a cameo appearance and the actor recently completed shooting for his portion in the film. Sara plays the role of freedom fighter Usha Mehta who was responsible for setting up of Congress Radio during the freedom movement.Lohia was Mehta’s mentor during the movement, and played a crucial role in establishing the underground radio that served as a vital communication tool during the Quit India movement.
According to a report in Peeping Moon, Emraan has a small, but significant role in the narrative, and Emraan has completely justified his role and added a certain excitement to the project. This is Emraan’s second venture with Karan Johar’s production house in recent times, the first being web show Showtime which is scheduled to release on March 8. Karan and Emraan first collaborated on Ungli, directed by Rensil D’Silva.
