Fighter collects its lowest collection on third Monday; mints only Rs 1.20 crore | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone‘s film Fighter witnessed a decline in its box office earnings as it entered its second week. Initially, it showed promise with a strong growth in the second weekend, but as weekdays commenced, the film went into a downward spiral. Even in the third week it was the same cycle, the weekend showed promise but the moment weekday began, the film began to spiral down. Fighter in its third weekend collected about Rs 9.4 crore with Rs1.75 crore coming on Friday, Rs 3.65 crore on Saturday and about Rs 4 crore on Sunday.
However, the moment the film entered Monday, it dropped by about 70% to collect just Rs 1.2 crore as per early estimates tracked by Sacnilk. This happens to be the lowest one day collection of the film. When the film showed a spike in its second weekend, a lot of people claimed that the film would easily enter the Rs 200 crore club. The film is yet Rs 1.90 crore short of that magical figure.
Decoding the dry run of the film, Trade Analyst Girish Wankhede said , “Fighter created a space of very snobbish and elite film and that was something that didn’t go very well with the interior of the country. The Tier 2 and Tier 3 couldn’t understand and compliment the high octane aerial action and somewhere the emotional quotient was missing and that is a big thing for any film to work anywhere.”
