Amid swirling allegations of involvement in a coin fraud scandal, Super Junior‘s Choi Siwon has broken his silence, issuing a resolute statement via his YouTube channel community on February 12 to set the record straight.
Lately, there have been concerns about a company that’s suspected of running a ‘scam coin’ operation. It’s said they were selling coins by falsely claiming their company would soon go public. The Korea Youth Committee’s Youth Pay and a few people were linked to this alleged coin fraud. This has led to questions about whether Choi Siwon might be involved as well.
Addressing the mounting speculation head-on, Choi Siwon vehemently refuted any association with the controversy. In his statement, he expressed, “Hi, this is Siwon Choi. I wish to express explicitly that I have no involvement with regard to the controversy surrounding the Korea Youth Committee’s Youth Pay. Furthermore, I have never been appointed as an ambassador for the Korea Youth Committee’s Youth Pay. While I have received an award at a ceremony organized by the Korea Youth Committee, this was in recognition of setting a good example for the youth, as intended by the committee, and is unrelated to the current controversy.
I want to make it clear that I have had no involvement in the Korea Youth Committee’s Youth Pay or any individual’s political activities”.
With this statement, Choi Siwon seeks to dispel any lingering doubts or insinuations casting a shadow over his reputation.
