Fighter’s downward spiral continues; just about manages to collect Rs 1 crore on Thursday | – Times of India

The downward spiral of Fighter continues in the third week; the film on Thursday, just about managed to collect Rs 1 crore as per industry tracker Sacnilk, to take the grand total of the film to Rs 201.90. On Wednesday, the film entered the coveted Rs 200 crore club, making it only the third film of Hrithik Roshan to do so, after War and Krrish 3.
The film carried a lot of expectations, as both Siddharth Anand and Hrithik Roshan were coming back for the third time after War and Bang Bang. Also the global success of Tom Cruise’s Top Gun Maverick must have also excited the team about the prospects of Fighter. However, the film failed to find a connection with the audience. In the first week, the film showed promise, as it clocked in Rs 146.5 crore, but since then, the collection has dropped with only weekends showing a small spike.
Decoding the dry run of the film, Trade Analyst Girish Wankhede said, “Fighter created a space of very snobbish and elite film and that was something that didn’t go very well with the interior of the country. The Tier 2 and Tier 3 couldn’t understand and compliment the high octane aerial action and somewhere the emotional quotient was missing and that is a big thing for any film to work anywhere.”
