Director Atlee Kumar promises a new Hollywood film within three years: ‘It took me eight years to reach Bollywood’ | – Times of India

Director Atlee Kumar has recently shared about his entry into the industry as an assistant director and shed light on the upcoming Hollywood venture. While speaking at a recent conclave by ABP News, Atlee mentioned that it took him eight years to enter Bollywood. In the next three years, he promised everyone a new project from him in hollywood.
The director addressed the huge success he achieved with the Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Jawan‘ in 2023.When addressing violence and sensitive content in his movies, Atlee shared that it is there to depict the truth in any movie. He considers himself as a media person; whenever the media uses violent footage in their news, it reflects the real picture of the world. So in ‘Jawan’, he had to portray the intensity of a farmer committing suicide, leaving him with no option to reduce it. While a reader can skip a violent scene in a newspaper, as a director, he had to make an impact and be the voice of the people.

He added that violence is not meant to provoke anyone but to make the audience rethink whether certain actions are humane or inhumane towards their cohabitants. Even if a film depicts a scene of shooting dogs, it does not necessarily signify violence but questions the abuse against animals. He finds it unfortunate when all these efforts are categorized as violence, but it represents the ‘bitter truth’.
