Anurag Kashyap has been a part of the movies for nearly three decades now, opened up about the state of the industry, and also claimed that 90% of feminist filmmakers are frauds.
While speaking at an event in Kolkata, the filmmaker shared that every filmmaker should have the right to make every kind of film. Anurag explained that commercial filmmakers, the people behind films like ‘KGF‘ and ‘Salaar‘, are of two kinds.There are opportunists and those who are very honest about only wanting to make money and make hit films.
When asked about the rise in feminist cinema in recent years, the filmmaker claimed that 90% of filmmakers who seem to be feminists, socialists, or revolutionaries are frauds. According to him, they are all posturing. After so many years of trying to put together so many independent filmmakers, he has realized that independent filmmakers are the worst. Because all they’re doing is pulling each other down and calling each other names.
The filmmaker pointed out, ‘What is the difference between the so-called intelligent people and the so-called fools? The fools are united. The ‘intelligent’ people are busy pulling each other down.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Anurag’s next release is going to be ‘Kennedy’ with Rahul Bhat and Sunny Leone, which was first screened at the Cannes Film Festival, followed by the International Indian Film Festival in Melbourne.
