He believes the character requires a fresh face who can effectively connect with children and inspire them.The veteran actor also revealed that following the original show’s success, discussions with Star India for another series based on the character took place, but unfortunately, it didn’t come to fruition. He expressed his disappointment, stating it was Star India’s loss, not his own. Additionally, he provided an update on the film, mentioning that they are still in the process of developing the storyline.

Khanna stirred controversy on Monday when he posted a video on his social media platforms expressing his opposition to casting Ranveer Singh as Shaktimaan due to his perceived “image.” He stated that despite keeping quiet about the rumors for months, he felt compelled to speak up after channels reported Singh’s involvement in the film. Khanna firmly asserted that an actor with a certain image, regardless of their stature, is unsuitable for the role of Shaktimaan. However, he later deleted the video from his social media accounts.
The Shaktimaan film was announced in 2022, with Sony Pictures India onboard as producers. However, specific details regarding the movie, such as casting, storyline, and release date, are still awaited.
